Professional Biography

Samantha Busenhart is a skilled advocate who will tirelessly champion her clients’ causes, providing crucial support and key advice throughout the entire legal process.

Samantha graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in philosophy. She completed her legal education at Georgetown University Law Center in May 2012.

While attending Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, Samantha gained family law experience through her work interning for two judges with child abuse and neglect dockets. Samantha continued to gain experience with family law matters through researching new issues for the custody chapter in the revised version of a professor’s family law casebook.

After graduating law school, Samantha clerked for the Honorable Tamara S. Russell in the First Judicial District of Colorado. She conducted extensive research and drafted orders for a mixed civil and criminal docket. Additionally, she served as a bailiff for numerous civil and criminal jury trials.

Samantha’s desire to move to the mountains and her drive to refine her litigation skills led her to a position as a deputy district attorney in Eagle County. She handled hundreds of cases involving domestic violence, DUI, theft, and assault. A believer in restorative justice, Samantha also served as the district attorney representative to the DUI and drug problem
solving courts. Finally, she took the opportunity to author an original petition to the Colorado Supreme Court under Appellate Rule 21. This experience enables her to scrutinize legal issues from multiple perspectives.

Samantha is excited to join RKV Law and she provides a depth of skills that will proactively move her clients’ needs forward in the mountains.
